animal type

today in e9 we took a "test" to see what type of animal you were out of 4 different ones.my results were an otter

characteristics of an otter-

  • enthusiastic
  • takes risks
  • visionary
  • verbal
  • promoter
  • enjoys popularity
  • fun loving
  • likes variety
  • spontaneous
  • inspirational
strength-people person, open and positive
weakness-talks too much

Im a little surprised this was my highest ranking animal type because another type of animal type was also a golden retriever which had characteristics that described me very will such as loyal, gives in to others, and nurturing to people around me.

also an example or explanation of why i could be an otter type is I'm very happy and energetic around my friends for the most part and I'm very loving to all my friends and family.

the 6 shot system & rule of 1/3s

This week in e9 we learned about the 6 shot system, which are the basic shots you use in any video or photography. The 6 shots consist of...

  • over the shoulder
  • close up of hands
  • medium shot
  • wide shot
  • extra wide shot
  • close up of face

Also we learned about the rule of thirds, which looks like a tick tack toe board laid over your picture. instead of having the object or person in your photographing right in the center of the image or video, you want the object or person to be set where the "tick tack toe" lines lay to make the picture more interesting and better composed.

6 shot system-

close up of the hands- a close up of the hands
shows what they are doing, and has good motion
in it.

over the shoulder- an over the shoulder shot shows
wat your subject is working on by taking it from
their perspective.

close up of the face-a close up of the face helps
show emotion an the detail of the subjects face.
this shot should have the whole face taken up in the
image.

medium shot- the medium shot is from the waist
up, and is a neutral shot to show some surroundings,
but focused on the subject.

wide shot-in the wide, its a full body shot. from head to toe.
this shot is meant to show
surroundings but still focused on the subject.

x/wide shot-the extra with shot is meant to show the
setting and environment the subject is in, the
subject should still be in a head to toe shot.

Colleges doing background checks on social media?

The article "they loved your GPA, then they saw your tweets" By Natasha Singer is all about how social media can rowen our chances into getting into colleges.

Some colleges are now starting to look at what you post on social media, which can rowen your chances of getting in for some people. Even if you have great grades and were about to be accepted, if they see your social media and they see something they don't like they can just deny your application!

This wasn't too surprising to me that colleges did this, just because social media and electronics are just about everywhere, and i see how colleges and schools could use it in a beneficial way to themselves, but i was really surprised that even if a student could definitely get into that school to begin with that the school could just "toss them out" of the acceptence because of a post from social media that might not even be theirs!

My big question is what if that post wasn't theirs, or they got hacked and a college saw that that was being posted on your account? Even if those weren't your words, pictures or videos, colleges would be in the point of view that they were yours! I don't think this is fair for great students that don't have any bad posts, and then they don't get accepted because of another persons acts.

I think this article can impact just about anyone, because even if your out of college job imployers  can look at your social media too, and anyone else.

We should all be careful on what we put on social media!

This article impacted me, even though i think I'm pretty good with social media, and brought to light that i should be even more careful than i am, and that it can impact my future.
